| Installing Omnisphere on my new computer with win7 64 bit using S1 version 2. I ran the first 2 DVDs without any problems (except they don´t ask me to put in the next DVD as they use to), but with the third DVD, it says that it´s not compatible with the (64-bit) version of windows am using. Anybody know how am I supposed to get the Omnisphere installation right? Found no info the Spectrasonics website. Thanks for help

| Thanks, but don´t I need to install the software on the DVDs before downloading and installing the updates? That´s what I try and fail since the DVD software apparently won´t work in my 64bit system. |

If that were true, how would anybody ever be able to install the 64-bit version? Maybe you need to run the installer with admin privileges. |

| It's simple man, install the copy of Omnisphere you have. If it doesn't give you the option of where to place the 64bit version... that's a sign. U dont have the most up to date version. You don't have the 64bit plug yet. Install the version you have though so you have the STEAM data properly installed, and then download whatever latest update is on their website and install that on top of it. |

Well, that´s what I was trying to do, but when I try to begin with installing the DVDs, there is where it all fails, because when I run the third DVD, it says that it´s not compatible with the (64-bit) version of windows I´m using and then I´m stuck. Damn, why isn´t there any info on the Spectrasonics-site about this... The support guy bugs me about giving him the error message, but it would be much simpler for him to simply explain how a customer is supposed to install Omni on a 64-bit computer, than me taking a screenshot that would require me running the installation of the other two 2 dvds before that, taking me ca 1,5 hours. I hate installing music software. It´s so f*ckng unintuitive and there is never any relevant guiding info anywhere except maybe in user forums like this. This message was edited 2 times. So in what order should I install things? The update first and the DVDs next? With any other software that´s the wrong order. |

| I don't know why you're having such a rough time with this. I installed Omnisphere with no issues on my 64 bit machine. What is the exact error and does it give you an option to skip? |

| I tried install the DVDs again, waiting another several hours waiting for them to get done, and now it suddenly worked. Apparently, those DVDs can somewhat capricious sometimes. Someone at the Northern sound forums had the same problems, http://www.northernsounds.com/forum/showthread.php/70384-omnisphere-installation-on-64bit. Unfortunately, there was never an explanation to the problem given on that forum. So, anybody installing Omni on 64-bit, be aware that the DVDs can be jumpy. Just have patience and try again, even if it costs you several hours more waiting.

| My guess is the problem was with your DVD drive. It could be dying... or, you just need to clean the dust from the tray before reading/writing a disc. (I know the latter sounds silly, but dust does accumulate on the tray, and it definitely can affect the ability to read the discs. I've learned to do a simple wipe of the tray before inserting any disc... Takes care of any dust I may or may not be able to see).
